Introduction to critical appraisal principles, research methods, essential statistics and qualitative research. Suitable for: All staff needing to read and understand research; especially junior doctors preparing for examinations, Trust grade doctors, staff embarking on research projects, those wanting to launch and run journal clubs.

By the end of this session you will be able to: (1) critique appropriate study designs for research hypotheses (2) describe statistical terms (3) calculate basic statistics
