Introduction to Health Literacy

This interactive session aims to raise understanding of what health literacy is and why it is important for both our professional practice and personal life. It aims to to raise awareness of how having low health literacy impacts on individuals’ health and wellbeing and the services that the support them. We will briefly cover some of the tools and techniques that can support people with low health literacy and promote health literacy in practice and signpost you to other resources.
Develop a greater understanding of: Health literacy, Impact of low health literacy on individuals and the NHS. Gain awareness of: Tool and techniques to support people with low health literacy.
