[As clinicians, we know that to provide the best care, every patient requires an individual approach. However, do we routinely consider that a patient's skin tone may mask certain clinical signs, leading to possible delays in treatment and affecting patient outcomes?
Equitable clinical assessment is largely about being aware of the possibility of clinical signs being masked, and searching for skin changes in a systematic way. Small changes in practice could promote large differences in care.]
